Product Description

The FIELDVUE DLC3020f digital level controller is a fieldbus communicating instrument used to measure liquid level or the level of interface between two liquids using displacement sensor technology. In addition to the normal function of reporting process level PV, the DLC3020f, using FOUNDATION fieldbus protocol, gives easy access to information critical to process operation and will readily integrate into a new or existing control system. AMS Suite: Intelligent Device Manager or the 475 Field Communicator can be used to configure, calibrate, or test the digital level controller. The DLC3020f is also designed to directly replace pneumatic, analog, or HART transmitters/controllers. It can be mounted on a wide variety of 249 cageless and caged level sensors as well as on other displacer type level sensors through the use of mounting adaptors.

Engineered to replace traditional pneumatic and electronic transmitters, the DLC3000 series provides a reliable and intelligent solution for a wide range of process applications .

    Operating Principle
    The DLC3000 series is typically mounted on a Fisher 249 Series caged or cageless displacer sensor . It senses process variables through a torque tube shaft: changes in liquid level, interface, or density alter the buoyancy of a submerged displacer, causing the torque tube to rotate . The controller utilizes a Hall-effect sensor to convert this precise rotary motion into an electronic signal, which is then processed to provide a standard 4-20 mA output .

    • Versatile Output: It provides a 4-20 mA DC analog output (with direct or reverse action) and supports high/low alarm saturation levels as per NAMUR NE 43 recommendations . The controller also features an LCD display capable of showing analog output, process variables (level, interface, density), process temperature, and torque tube rotation angle .
